456 illegal migrants repatriated, 100 others detained
A group of 456 illegal migrants who had entered illegally into Myawady in Kayin State from some neighbouring countries including Thailand and were involved in online gambling and scams in Shwe Kokko, Mehtawthalay and KK Park were repatriated and 100 more illegal migrants were also detained today.
The repatriation was guided by Min Thu Kyaw, the Kayin State Security and Border Affairs Minster, the Criminal Investigation Department Deputy Director-General Mr. Liu Ning Ning of the People’s Republic of China Ministry of Public Security and officials from Thailand’s Tak Province Immigration Department led by its Director Ploen Klinpayom. Repatriation documents were handed over to officials of relevant countries in an orderly way by responsible officials from Myanmar.
The MACP, during the time range of 30 January to 6 March, 2025, has seized and detained 4,342 illegal invaders to Myanmar, and 1,213 of them were legally and consistently repatriated to respective nations through Thailand while the rest of 3,129 illegal invaders are advisable for repatriation and being held appropriately. The 4,342 illegal settlements under detention included citizens of China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nepal, Thailand, Japan, Rwanda, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Ghana, Bangladesh and China (Taipei) and most of them were from China.
