Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets officer trainees who are attending a training [course] in Belarus
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister who is on official goodwill visit to the Republic of Belarus, visited and addressed officer trainees studying in Minsk, Belarus, at 4.30 pm on March 7, local time, at the President Hotel.
The meeting was attended by Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council member General Nyo Saw, officials from Union-level accompanying the trip, U Thit Lin Ohn, Myanmar Ambassador to Belarus, senior military officers from Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, military attaché (Army, Navy and Air) and responsible officials as well as the officer trainees.
The country’s Senior General, in his speech, said, ‘Sending students abroad is done with clear objectives. Some are deployed for postgraduate studies while others are sent out according to the specific need. To develop human resources, the country sends trainees to attend these courses. He told the trainees to try to finish their take-off in the scheduled time and learn the course material well.
They are chosen to go abroad so that they must value themselves and work harder. While they contribute their own time and money to their education, the State and the Tatmadaw are incurring great costs as well. Thus, they have to perform to promote the benefit of the nation and the Tatmadaw and should have a great eagerness to serve interests of the nation and the Tatmadaw.
Like everyone else pursue their own dreams but they have to make their own country dream come true as well. They should try to serve the needs of the country with the knowledge that they have learned. Tatmadaw members are basically good persons and achievers. They must love themselves and strive to make their life better, be disciplined in all their work and put in their heart and soul into whatever they do.
After the meeting, the Senior General treated officer trainees to food and money and farewelled them warmly.
Earlier in the day, the Senior General visited Myanmar Consulate-General in Minsk and met with consulate staff and their family members. During the meeting, they talked about diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Belarus, strengthening bilateral ties, holding an economic forum during the goodwill visit, political developments and progress of Myanmar, as well as developing friendship and trade relations between the two countries. He also asked for and addressed the consulate staff’s and family members’ needs.
Then, the Senior General hosted a meal for the consulate staff, their family members and provided cash handouts to them and nicely sent them off.
